4th and 5th XI face tough trips in the Cup

The draws were made for both the Intermediate and Junior Cups this weekend and Phoenix Fourth and Fifth XI have been handed tough assignments in both.

In the Junior Cup the Fifth XI have been drawn away to Dundalk on Sunday May 26th in the Preliminary Round. A win in Dundalk would secure a trip to face Clontarf in he First Round proper. The Fifth XI are the bottom team in cup bracket and, as a result, have no hope of a home fixture in the competition. Four wins on the road will be required to book a place in the final in Terenure on Saturday August 17th.

In the Intermediate Cup it is a similar tale as the Fourth XI are also the bottom team in the bracket. They have avoided being drawn in the Preliminary Round, though, so will face one less game to reach the final. They start away to Mullingar  Saturday June 8th and, if they should make it, the final will take place in Leinster on Saturday August 10th.

We wish captains Mooney and Godwin all the very best in leading their teams to success in the cup this coming year!
