After a rough month statistically in July that saw nobody shine with bat or ball, and therefore no award given, the 2012 Player of the Month Award returns to us again.
There were some strong showings in the bowling statistics with Sayed Shah notching up 10 wickets @ 12.80 and Golden Arm Anders clocking up 8 scalps @ 8.25.
With the bat Hashmi Khan showed what he is capable of again with 97 runs @24.25 while Grant White made a fine return to action averaging a very good 34.00 on the button.
However the shootout for the Player of the Month came down to the superb performances of two players. As is usual I will start with the vanquished.
Willie Clarke’s bowling throughout the month was nothing less than superb as he found the magic tough in August. 14 wickets at a whisker over 7 apiece is a phenomenal return and it has shot him back into the race for leading wicket taker at the club this year. However for the month that is in it his haul just wasn’t enough. Superbly well played, though, Willie

In the end the award goes to a young man who has chipped in with both bat and ball. Scores of 39 and 2/40, 86 and 2/37, 60 and 2/27 all mean that Tom Anders takes the August Player of the Month Award.
Tom piled up 196 runs @ 49.00 over the course of the month as well as adding 6 wickets @ 19.50 with an economy rate of 3.16 as well as taking 3 catches. It was a marvelous sustained effort over the whole month and Tom is fully deserving of the award. From everyone at the club a big congratulations to Tom.
