Phoenix face a stiff test on the opening day of the season as their first game back in the top division sees them take on YMCA at home on April 27th. The last time the two sides met YMCA triumphed to consign Phoenix to relegation on the final day of the 2011 season.
YMCA finished runners up last season as well as claiming the Alan Murray Twenty20 Cup and will be looking for another strong showing. It will be a challenging opening fixture for the First XI but they must quickly get up to speed as there will be no easy wins to be had next season.
The chance to get off to a flying start is there as the second game of the season will also take place in the Park as Phoenix host Railway Union a week later.
