Phoenix 3 v Terenure 2 Sunday 2nd May 2010
Phoenix won the toss and elected to bowl first. The fielding was brilliant and everyone worked hard to restrict terenure to 177. Aamir was the pick of the bowlers with 2/27 off 9 overs.
We had a steady and controlled run chase with F Parekh 38*, B Khan 18* seeing us home with 8 balls to spare. S Parekh 32.
Mullingar v Phoenix 3 Saturday 22nd May 2010
The 3rds travelled away to Mullingar and came away with an impressive win. After being sent into bat we made a steady start in the first 10 overs with A Battan making 43. N Shazad hit a quick fire 51 with the rest of the team all chipping in along the way to set a target of 184.
H Mushtaq was the pick of the bowling with 4/10 in a fielding display par excellence that had the league leaders all out for 125.
Clontarf v Phoenix 3 Tuesday 25th May 2010 (T20 Cup)
The 3rds machine rolled into Clontarf Tuesday night and won a tight contest. After setting a target of 131 to win with H Parekh 23 and F Parekh 43*. Weathering an initial storm the Phoenix team held strong with O Khan picking up quick wickets 2/20 and a nerveless final over from A Battan saw Phoenix home by 1 run.
Phoenix 3 v Leinster (2nd Round Cup)
After the washout on the June bank holiday the cup was reduced to 20 overs. The 3rds took on Leinster with an impressive debut from young Harris (2/27). Leinster attacked hard and set a score of 189. Never to be the side to run away from a challenge we set after it in typical Phoenix style…. full steam ahead. A quick 46 from A Nazir got us close but we fell 18 runs short with 172.
Rush 2 v Phoenix 3 Tuesday 29th June (T20 Semi-Final)
Phoenix batted first and lost early wickets but some valuable late runs from Amit Battan (46), got us up to 147. Early wickets also put Rush under pressure before some good partnerships saw them needing just over 6 an over to win. However some fine death bowling from man of the match Amit Battan saw the 3s into final.
A special mention to our regular fan base for making the trip to Rush.

Phoenix 3 v Leinster 3 – Saturday 28th August 2010
After dropping some recent matches the 3rds found themselves bottom of Division 5 and in a relegation battle.
We took on Leinster this weekend and it was one of the most exciting games played in The Park in recent history. Leinster batted first and after some great fielding and bowling were restricted to 151 off 45 overs. (T. Ali 3/16)
The Phoenix run chase got off to a great start with A Nazir (63) and A Battan (14) putting on 70 for the first wicket. The loss of Battan sparked a collapse and Phoenix were quickly 8/109. Still requiring 43 to win R Gopal and number 10 batsman A Joseph (28 not out) got the required runs down to 17 before Gopal went. That left number 11 W Clarke (2 not out) and Joseph the task of getting us home. With some lusty blows and Hussain Bolt like running the anchormen reached the target and lifted Phoenix out of the relegation zone sparking some incredible celebrations that will be remembered for many years to come.
We still have 2 matches left to play and the boys will fight to the end to stay alive in this league.
