The LCU has released a list of the top batsmen in Leinster Cricket from 1919 to the present day. There eleven entries from players who have represented Phoenix over the years. However only three of the players featured in the list played the entirety of their career at Phoenix those players being GF Murphy, JSL Mitchell and DB Ensor.
DR Pigot amassed the most appearances and innings with 594 knocks to his name. He is also the top run scorer by some distance piling up 14,423 runs and making it to second place on the list overall.
The highest individual score on the list goes to JB Ganly who managed 232 with Alf Masood the only other double centurion with a top score of 204*. Jeremy Bray leads the averages by some distance with 62.32 and, again, Alf Masood is the next best with an average of 51.22. No other player has managed to average over 50.
Current Chairman of Cricket, DB Ensor, is the most resistant batsman on the list with 88 of his inning ending with him carrying his bat. That accounts for over 25% of his trips to the middle and is a most impressive stat. On the flipside he is the only player not to have registered a century with his top knock ending at 93.
Jeremy Bray and Alf Masood are tied for the most centuries with 23 a piece while DR Pigot passed the half century mark on 79 occassions.
