While the miserable weather this summer means most of us have been confined to the sidelines there has been no stopping the Youth Section in the club from pressing on. There have been impressive results scattered throughout a sodden summer at the club as well as continued representative success.

Marc Gibson-McKenna and Eoin Cleere featured in the initial panel and played in the trial games. However it was Adam Chester and Rory Anders were both prominent for Leinster in the recent under 15 Inter Provincial Series up at Stormont. Leinster almost took home the title but fell 2 runs short to NCWU in the final deciding game to miss out by almost the barest of margins. Rory Anders struck 24 and took 2 for 23 in the decider but it was not to be enough. Phoenix were also represented off the field as Andrew Fox added another string to his bow as he scored at the event. Foxy is making the most of his season despite missing out on playing due to an unfortunate injury.

Phoenix took on Bedford Modern, a touring team from England, during the week and there was more success with the bat for the youngsters. Ben White cashed in with 50 and Rory Anders finished 84 not out and will feature on the next update of the honours board.
