As the England -v- South Africa Test Match that finished just moments ago underlined there are many ways of getting wickets and picking the right man for the right moment is key for any captain if he wishes to have success. And while Phoenix CC might not quite be at Test Match level there are challenges for all captains through all the grades to pick the right man to prize out that key batsman and turn the game in his sides favour.
So who are they key men for Phoenix this year? Well there is an almighty struggle going on at the top of the wicket taking charts to see who is top dog come the seasons end. Unsurprisingly enough club pro, Jan Hendrik Steenkamp, is right up there in the mix with his hostile pace bowling. However he is currently playing second fiddle to Hollywood McKenna. The battle of the Anders rages on in third and fourth place with old Golden Arm, John, just a single wicket ahead of Tom. David Ford is also in with a shout and is the only other bowler to have claimed more than 20 scalps.
So here they are. The Phoenix Top 10 wicket takers so far.
