This weekend at Phoenix Cricket Club 25th-26th April 2015

Dear Phoenix CC Members,

The time for patience is almost over- our countdown clock on the home page says only hours to go to the start of the new league season- no more friendlies but for our players only eating, sleeping and more importantly dreaming about cricket!!

First mention this week in our news is a shout out and congratulations to the Ladies 2nd XI who won their first league fixture in Trinity on Tuesday evening by 32 run featuring a great innings from Sarah McIntosh who finished 55 not out.

This Weekend’s opening fixtures:-

Saturday 25th April

Balbriggan 1 V Phoenix 1st XI (Away)

Sunday 26th April

The Hills 2 V Phoenix 2nd XI (Away)

Saturday 25th April in the Phoenix Park

Phoenix will be holding their 4th Annual T20 World Cup competition in the park on Saturday. Phoenix Members will be representing three teams – Asia, Ireland/Uk and the Rest of the World. Please come down and support your Club and Country.

Friday 1st May in Castleknock College

To celebrate the close relationship between Phoenix and Castleknock College that has developed in the last year a “cricket evening” in the College has been arranged on Friday 1st May.

There will be a fixture between a Phoenix Youth XI and a Castleknock College XI starting at 4.30pm and this will be followed by a Phoenix President’s XI v Castleknock College Headmasters XI starting at 6.30pm.

Refreshments will be available. All Phoenix members are welcome to attend what should be a most enjoyable evening.

Finally, our handbooks are nearly ready to go to print. Thank you to Aidan Chester for all his hard work putting it together and thank you to all those members who sponsored an advert, we should have them ready for circulation sometime next week.

Have a lovely weekend and enjoy the cricket!

Warm regards,
