Review of the Week
1XI Cork
The trip to the Mardyke brought back memories of the "day of days" in the ISC last August and the 1's travelled hoping to add to their opening day victory against Merrion. Batting first we were indebted to George Dockrell for his 64 as we made 194 all out. Amish Sidhu with 3 wickets, one each for Ragnav Grover and Dev Ranolia and some run outs saw us dismiss them for 132 and so we become 2/2
1XI Balbriggan
2/2 became 3/3 on Monday as an inspired George Dockrell 117 not out innings and a 5 for by Tyrone Kane helped us to the full bag of 25 points with a massive 180 run victory.. At this early stage it's ourselves, Clontarf and Leinster unbeaten at the head of affairs.
W1XI Malahide
The W1 opened their season with an impressive away win at Malahide. Batting first we made a very decent 140 with Arisha Foysal top scoring with 31. Our bowling then finished the job by restricting Malahide to 124/2 with Zara Craig and Navedha Saravanarajan having spells of 4/13/0 and 4/18/1 respectively. An excellent team effort and a great base for the season.
2xi Knockharley
A young 2's side from Div 5 hammered Knockharley from Div 4 in the Tillain Cup. Levon Shields with 4 and Rory McColl with 3 had the Meathmen all out for 95 and Joe Cotgreave blitzed 52 to end the game with less than 8 overs bowled. A great start by the 2's who are 2/2 this season.
3XI DLR
The 3's lost another close one as despite Gurusharan Singh's 5/28 and Haseeb Khan's 31 we went down by 3 wickets
4XI Laois
Ashkay Beniwal's 55, Nirmal Kendwal's 53* and Chandan Nagabhushan 34* set us up with a huge 191 T20 Total which saw us home by 29. Young Umesh Bairwa took his first wicket for Phoenix.
5XI Halverstown
The 5's success on the road continued with Vinayak Latti's 51 , Vignesh Tamilmani's 43 followed by 3 wickets given them a 37 run win
6XI Carlow / Adamstown
Youth to the fore as Hans Rukesh made a superb 66 not out in the win v Adamstown - Eoin O'Brien and Andrew Sugrue taking 5 between them. Despite the defeat in Carlow Ahmed Ali top scored with 29
Tavs v Terenure Walnuts
The TAV'S held a minute's silence for our departed stalwart Kevin Fahy before our opening game of the season. He would have been pleased as well dismissed The Walnuts for 93 and then chased the total 3 down with plenty to spare.
